Transcription Diagonal reading

Reading is one of the tasks we have to perform the most when we are studying, in many occasions we receive large loads of books that we must process in a few hours, either to assimilate their content or because we have to make reports or tasks related to them.

Reading is a skill that develops over time, as we advance through the different stages of our studies, the repetition of this habit provides us with tools that speed up the reading process and improve comprehension. Thus, as a general rule, a university student can read more pages than a high school student, both using the same amount of time.

Among the types of reading, there is one that stands out for the apparent speed with which it can be executed. Diagonal reading, which we will study in the following guide, where we will provide you with the basic aspects that will allow you to understand it in case you wish to develop it.

Its essence is based on being able to cover all the content offered by the page through a quick view, it's like a glance without stopping.

The reason for its name is that the reader must read the text diagonally, starting in the upper left corner and ending in the lower right corner. He must attend to all the content almost at the same time, pausing a little on the highlighted words, which may draw attention in some way, perhaps on some concept and little else. The difficulty lies in processing all the information efficiently to get a general idea of what you have read, to understand and comprehend the text.

Diagonal reading usually appears as a result of an evolution of the reader's ability, not everyone can read in this way and understand some of what they read, people who have this ability usually read a lot and read well. However, it is all a matter of practice, if you use this method repeatedly, it is likely that you will master it effectively.

Recommendations

Speed reading is useful for a quick sketch of information in a short period of time, but it is pra
