Videos are one of the most complete information transmission elements in the world, this is due to the fact that as audiovisual material, it is capable of integrating images and audios in the same format, making the message can be received in different ways. Within the world of teaching, videos are used as a powerful technique for student support. From early ages to advanced stages, videos are used to complement classes or to teach them directly through this medium.

We will now address the use of videos as a student support technique and the importance it has in the student's training process. To do so, we will review the basic and distinctive aspects of this technique, so that you can integrate it during your teaching.

Recommendations to reinforce our video

As we said before, this is a very complete means of transmitting information, since we can not only communicate through image and audio, but a video can contain texts, graphics and in general any information that can be received through sight or hearing.

When elaborating a didactic video, it is recommended to use elements that help to present the information in an organized way. Such is the case of tables or graphs, which can provide a comparative order to reinforce the memorization process of the content.

We can incorporate questions that, with the teacher's guidance, allow students to interact and remain active. If the content of the video requires it, a summary can be added to facilitate the students' guidance.

During the elaboration of the video, we should consider whether we need to add images that clearly illustrate the concepts addressed in the video. If we combine the texts with images, the memorization process will be much more effective.

In the final part of the video we can incorporate a summary, which briefly summarizes the fundamental aspects that have been addressed during the video, so that the student, through its visualization, can take the necessary notes and quickly review those essential aspects.

Make sure that the level of difficulty of comprehension of the video is progressive, that is, that it starts with the most basic aspects before going into the more complex ones, this will allow the student to be introduced to the topic and understand it little by little.

Duration of the video

Regarding the length of time that a student video should have, this varies greatly depending on the source you decide to consult, there is also no study that can confirm that a time is more optimal than another, since we must take into account the purpose for which we expose the video, the information it conveys and who are the
