Transcription Measures for protection in commercial areas

Inform customers and workers through posters about the hygiene procedures issued by the health authorities. Consumers should remain in commercial establishments only as long as necessary for the purchase of food and basic necessities.

Customer service should be facilitated to reduce the use of the self-service system and prevent customers from directly handling equipment and food, especially unpackaged food.

It is recommended that disposable gloves are always available for use in the self-service area. Encourage the use of credit cards and clean the POS after each use.

The use of gloves is recommended for the collection of products or services and their frequent sanitization using disinfectant gels. If it is not possible to use gloves, protective measures should be intensified and the frequency of cleaning and disinfection should be increased.

Employees designated to dispense food should be prevented from cashing out food to avoid handling money or credit cards. In the purchasing process and in the queues, the safety distance of at least one meter between customers and the vendor, and between the customers themselves, must be respected.

To comply with the special measures specified by the health authorities, especially the minimum distance requirements, a maximum capacity of people on the premises must be established.

If there is a large influx of people and it is not possible to guarantee the established minimum safety distance, once the customer has taken a turn, he/she will have to wait outside the premises.

Customers must be clearly informed of the organizational measures and the need for their cooperation in complying with them by means of regular announcements over the public address system.

In order to ensure a safe distance between customers, products and employees, information should be provided by means of posters or signs and safety lines should be marked on the floor of the product sales and collection areas.

For greater protection of the work area and to ensure the protection of customers and employees, it is recommended that plastic screens or similar rigid or semi-rigid material be installed at cash registers, which should be easy to sanitize and disinfect.

To ensure the hygiene of unpackaged products such as meat, fish, fruit, confectionery or bakery products that are directly exposed to customers, a prudent distance should be established or they should be protected in display cases, glass, plastic, methacrylate or other material that prevents possible contamination.

Sellers must use gloves to comply with the regulations on handling unpackaged products, and if they are not available, hygiene measures and frequent hand washing should be intensified. For products with assisted dispensing, such as fish, fruits, vegetables or greens, a minimum safety distance should be established in accordance with the size of the premises.

Recommendations should be included regarding the washing and treatment that should be given to self-service fruits or vegetables, as well as the use of disposable gloves for their handling.

Call customers to comply with the recommendations through the use of posters and signs. Create conditions to facilitate home delivery service, avoiding cash payments and using only on-line payment methods. Products should be delivered to the door of the home without entering the home, and at all times remain at least 1 meter away from the customer.
