Behavioral Changes
One of the first indicators of stress in a client may be noticeable changes in their behavior. These changes can manifest in a variety of ways, such as irritability, aggressiveness, social withdrawal, or lack of interest in activities they once enjoyed. Observing these changes may be an early sign of stress.
Sleep Problems
Stress often disrupts a person's sleep pattern. A stressed client may experience difficulty falling asleep, frequent awakenings during the night, or nightmares. Sleep problems can further aggravate stress and anxiety.
Physical Symptoms
Stress has a direct impact on the body and can manifest itself through physical symptoms. These can include frequent headaches, muscle tension, digestive problems, excessive sweating, palpitations, or even cold-like symptoms such as fatigue and weakness.
Appetite Changes
Some clients may experience changes in their appetite as a result of stress. They may lose interest in eating, leading to weight loss, or turn to food as a way to cope with stress, which can lead to weight gain. These changes in eating patterns are important signs.
