Transcription Osteoporosis

We will now discuss one of the most degenerative diseases for the human body. Osteoporosis is a condition characterized by the degradation of the bone structure, to the point that the bones weaken without the new bone tissue that is being created being able to replace the previous one.

Osteoporosis is a very serious disease and in many occasions it can end the life of the person who suffers from it. That is why we will dedicate the following guide to analyze how the main symptoms of osteoporosis appear and what are the most efficient prevention and mitigation mechanisms.

In another order we will address the relationship between the vegetarian diet and this disease, analyzing whether it is advisable or not to assume vegetarianism when we suffer from this.

Characteristics: Osteoporosis has no cure, it can be treated with the aim of mitigating its effects, but it is a condition with which the patient must learn to live all his life. Although it can present itself asymptomatically, the effects of this disease will be felt quickly, manifesting itself in fractures and serious injuries that can occur very easily.

This is mainly due to the fact that the bone tissue begins to diminish at a rapid rate, while the bones become weaker and weaker. Sometimes, where the disease is advanced, it is enough to make a sudden movement for one of our bones to break. The greatest risk is in the hip, where in many cases the breakage of the hip is due to the presence of this disease.

To understand why this happens, it suffices to illustrate a simple process that occurs in our bones. Human bones suffer from the decomposition of their tissue, and in turn, in a process of constant renewal, new tissue is created to replace the old. If this new tissue is not created faster than the time it takes for the old tissue to decompose, we would be in the presence of this condition, which leaves our bones completely devoid of the protection they need.

This disease is usually treated with medications, exercise routines, and special dietary plans. Regarding the latter, we will analyze the impact that maintaining a vegetarian diet can have for people with this disease.

Vegetarian diet: When we talk about assuming a vegetarian diet in the presence of any disease, we almost always relate health and good nutrition as clear possibilities of prevention and mitigation of the same. This logic makes us quickly assume that a vegetarian diet can be beneficial to counteract osteoporosis through nutrition.

The truth is that this is not as clear as with other diseases, such as obesity or hypertension. Regarding this issue there are conflicting opinions, some claim that the vegetarian diet and to a greater extent the vegan diet may be scarce in calcium, a very important mineral in the prevention of osteoporosis.

There have been several studies that seek to measure the impact of a vegetarian lifestyle on bone health, some of them have even theorized about the importance o
