Transcription Virtue of transcendence

The virtue of Transcendence groups together those character strengths that enable individuals to connect with something greater than themselves, whether it is the universe, a deity, higher principles or a deep sense of life purpose.

These qualities help to find meaning, guidance and peace in life.

Appreciation of Beauty and Excellence

This strength consists of the ability to notice, recognize and deeply appreciate beauty, excellence and talent in various manifestations, whether in nature, art, science or people's daily actions.

It involves taking the time to consciously observe and appreciate our surroundings, finding joy in harmony, skill or majesty, which contributes to a richer and higher perspective on life.

Gratitude

Gratitude is the strength to be aware of and thankful for the good things you have and that happen around you.

It goes beyond a simple superficial thank you; it is a profound recognition of the value of what has been received or experienced.

Many times, people focus on the negative and do not stop to appreciate the positive.

Cultivating gratitude allows us to change this approach and appreciate the abundance present, even in the midst of difficulties.

Hope and Optimism

Hope is defined as the capacity to expect the best from the future and, fundamentally, to work actively to achieve it.

It involves maintaining a positive and constructive outlook, believing in the possibility of things getting better and striving to make it happen.

Living without hope can lead to negativity and a greater propensity for sadness or depression.

Hope, on the other hand, drives action and strengthens well-being.

The Sense of Humor

A sense of humor is manifested in the ability to laugh, to not take life too seriously and to find the light or funny side of situations.

Not being a bitter person and knowing how to enjoy jokes and happy moments is crucial for well-being.

This strength makes a significant difference in the ability to be happy and to face life with a more positive attitude.

Spirituality (Sense of Purpose)

Spirituality, in this context, refers to believing in a higher order meaning and purpose, and understanding one's place within a larger, transcendent scheme.

It involves having beliefs about the meaning of life that provide inner peace and guide behavior.

It is not necessarily limited to religion; it can be found in connection with nature, in deep values, or in a philosophy of life that brings meaning.

People with a developed spirituality tend to live with a more positive outlook and hope.
