Transcription Welcome Induction (Human Resources)
Presentation of mission, vision and structure
The initial phase of onboarding, known as welcome induction, is a direct responsibility of the human resources department.
The central purpose of this stage is for the new member to acquire a thorough understanding of the identity and direction of the organization.
During this introductory talk, the strategic pillars should be detailed: the mission, which defines the raison d'être of the organization; the vision, which projects the path to future success; and the corporate values, which govern the expected ethical conduct.
It is imperative to provide this documentation in writing, ensuring an acknowledgement of receipt to formalize the employee's commitment to the internal culture.
In addition, the organizational structure is explained so that the employee understands his or her place within the organizational chart and the existing hierarchical lines. This stage is vital to generate the first feeling of identity and belonging.
Scheduled visits to facilities and departments
An effective strategy to reduce the new employee's uncertainty is to conduct guided tours of the company's physical facilities.
These visits should be scheduled and coordinated with those responsible for each area.
The objective is for the employee not only to locate essential spaces such as the dining room, restrooms or emergency exits, but also to get a macro view of how the different departments interact to achieve the ultimate goal of customer satisfaction.
At each stop, an area representative can briefly explain their functions, facilitating future interdepartmental communication.
This initial face-to-face contact humanizes the organization and reinforces the feeling of having entered a solid, coordinated structure.
