Transcription What we want to achieve and what we do

We are faced with the question about the concordance between what we want and what we do that we finally set the goal that one thing complements the other. A friend approaches us and asks us: I want to take a vacation trip but I don't have the money, so I'm going to save a few months to make it happen; some time later our friend only talks about his vacation trip that has not yet materialized; he does not know how much money he needs to raise, he has not set a time limit for it and even does not know where he wants to travel to, this happens when we do not have a plan to accomplish what we propose. What can we do to help him? We are coaches and we constantly deal with clients and their situations; to help him/her we could have certain aspects of personal determination or a bit of coherence. These types of situations can also happen to us in spite of our experience or wisdom.

How we define ourselves.

A good part of what we achieve in life depends on how we define ourselves personally. We may say that we define ourselves by our actions, we are charitable people or people of good will towards others so we make a conclusion about that. On other isolated occasions we may think that we define ourselves by how we feel and you can imagine that if you feel good you will remain stable, but if you feel depressed or unwell you will usually only have negative thoughts about your personal definition. For everyone at some point it is also valid to define oneself according to the events or results achieved in the past, so it is the same as with feelings. In any case it is good to clarify that none of these forms define us completely because what gives us some hope is what we are able to achieve in the present to gradually build our self-definition.

Construction of identity.

It is already known that we are born with a psychic identity, our personality, but there is another form of identity which is what others perceive of us. Identity in a general sense is shaped by our experience in a given area. Everything about us can be constructed according to how we want to be perceived by others. We shape our habits and customs, ways of dressing, being and behaving in order to make a good impression on customers and we build that identity over time. If we are not clear about what we want to be then we can hardly draw a plan to achieve it. Another part of personality building is whether the steps we take are the right ones for our goal and what would happen once we achieve it.

Having a vision of our future.

An important aspect of defining what we want to achieve in our life is to have a vision of the future. Probably there are sectors of great personal interest in which you see yourself performing, whether it is arts, business or science; if you see yourself reflected achieving results in your vision of the future then you already have a little bit of what you want to achieve. If you do not yet have that privilege, take your time until you find it because it will be very helpful for you to apply strategies that are consistent with your purpose. If you do not visualize yourself performing a certain task or obtaining results in science for example, it is because it is not your profile and if you are dedicated you can learn, but you will lack passion.

Commitment.

It is not always enough to have a clear vision of where we want to go, it is necessary to assume it with a high level of commitment to obtain results. All ideas are good, all can be a grain of gold to be exploited, but it requires dedication in
