Transcription Intelligence test

Intelligence tests today are accessible to anyone, the internet is full of free tests that allow you to measure your intelligence by performing small tests within a web, where the results are shown automatically with a brief description of them. What at first seemed to be something exclusive to a laboratory or special therapies with psychologists, today are as common as finding a sudoku.

This has its nuances, although it is important that the information is democratized, it can be dangerous that we do not implement certain filters before performing the test, because we are subject to the possibility of running into a false test or made arbitrarily in order to provide content to a page.

We will now take a brief look at this topic in order to outline the basics.

Definition

An intelligence test is a test that seeks to measure how intelligent we are within a broad scale ranging from patterns of total inability to communicate or perform slightly logical or rational thoughts to levels of exceptional genius. The IQ test, IQ test or IQ test as they are also known, shows an estimated value. This value is given after measuring our problem-solving ability, that is, it seeks to know how good we are at making decisions and creating reasoning from logic to face a certain solution and solve a certain problem.

The IQ is our cognitive capacity, it is not a test of knowledge, but a test of intelligence. Factors such as memory, analysis, comprehension, among others are measured in these tests. The number 100 is taken as the indicative of the average, contrary to conventional scales where we set the results from 1 to 100, here the 100 will be a result above the average, so that any figure below 100 will represent that the subject has a lower intelligence than normal, which does not mean that it has some delay, for this should be addressed to the different ranges to understand what is the degree of cognitive ability of the subject.

Importance

Intelligence tests are not only useful to satisfy our curiosity, they have very important practical utilities. They are necessary in selection processes for organizations or entities that require a minimum of cognitive aptitude. At the same time, it is an essential tool in the processes of judicial evidence, when it is necessary to know if the subject who committed the crime is capable of understanding the scope of his acts, since in most criminal codes, intellectual capacity serves as an exemption of responsibility or as an aggravating factor in the case of the victim.

Intelligence tests are widely used in educational systems when it is necessary to determine whether a student should be attended by special education or not. From the clinical point of view it allows us to rule out mental retardation, cognitive problems, among others. It is a testing tool, which although it is not 100 percent reliable, it has a fairly acceptable margin of effectiveness. The use of intelligence tests can be incorporated to almost any field where human resources play an important role, since they serve as a filter to know if the personnel we intend to hire is suitable to perform a certain task, which due to its special conditions, requires a person with a high cognitive level.
