Cardiopulmonary capacity and mobility

The development of biological fitness encompasses multiple spheres that ensure optimal performance in daily life.

On the one hand, aerobic endurance defines the efficiency with which the vascular system and the lungs manage to oxygenate the tissues in the face of prolonged efforts over time, such as continuous jogging or long bicycle rides.

On the other hand, flexibility represents the mechanical freedom of the ligaments and fibers to execute fluid movements in their maximum possible range without presenting harmful shortening.

Maximum and sustained strength

The ability to generate internal tension to bend an external load defines the concept of driving force. This aptitude is subdivided according to the nature of the stimulus.

Maximal strength eva luates the absolute limit load that an individual can displace in a single isolated effort.

In contrast, muscular endurance eva luates the tolerance of the tissue to withstand repetitive contractions or to maintain a constant tension under a submaximal load over a prolonged period of time.

Acceleration and initial force development

To optimize abrupt changes in velocity, it is a priority to work on the force and acceleration curve.

This involves training the tissues to release their energy potential in fractions of a second.

Starting force is an essential component, as it determines the ability of the neuromuscular system to overcome inertia from a state of absolute rest, which is indispensable in explosive starts.

Likewise, the ability to dampen or absorb energy when braking the body protects bone structures against severe wear and tear when stopping abruptly.

Summary

Physical fitness encompasses multiple dimensions essential to overall human well-being. Cardiovascular endurance, which optimizes oxygen transport, and mobility, which ensures wide joint ranges without pain or mechanical restrictions, stand out.

Strength represents the biological capacity to overcome variable external resistances. It is strategically divided into absolute maximum power and sustained muscular endurance, making it possible to overcome heavy obstacles or maintain prolonged tension during highly demanding activities.

Developing initial power is essential to initiate movements from static positions. Training explosive acceleration combined with proper cushioning prevents severe joint injuries, ensuring perfect body control during hard braking or continuous impact.
